Sarah Brummel created HOWL after graduating from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in Environmental Education. Upon completing an internship with Life Lab Science Program, Sarah saw the amazing benefit for children who were able to study and learn outdoors and not solely in the classroom.
Her teaching experience with pre-schools, various classrooms, and volunteer work around the globe give her the ability to educate in a variety of situations. As one teacher said about her, “Sarah has a great presentation! She’s able to adapt to all 99 personalities and abilities.”
In recent years, Sarah has been a full time teacher in Bolinas, CA and now in Middletown, CA. She also worked in Africa for the Jane Goodall Institute for whom she created curriculum and events about the environment for the local communities. Also, for many years, she operated summer day camps for elementary aged children to study and experience the oceans, forests, and environs of northern California.
